The FRSQ "Stage international" program

It is with great pleasure that we announce that an FRSQ International Training Fellowship was awarded to Mr. Damien Biot-Pelletier for his project entitled "Crystallization of the ExbB-ExbD complex of Escherichia coli".

M. Biot-Pelletier is a student in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at McGill University. He is completing his Masters degree under the supervision of Dr. James W. Coulton.

This fellowship will allow him to pursue his project for a six-month period starting March 1st, in the laboratory of Dr. Jeffrey Abramson, Professor in the Department of Physiology at the University of California, Los Angeles.

Sincere congratulations to Mr. Biot-Pelletier!

Ph.D./M.Sc. position available

For a GÉPROM-funded project on conformational changes of the pore region of iGluRs, a PhD/MSc position is available. Using simultaneous measurements of electrophysiology and fluorescence spectroscopy, structure function relations of the pore domain of iGluRs will be investigated. During the project, the student will be co-supervised by Dr. R. Blunck (Depts. of physics and physiology, Université de Montréal) and Dr. D. Bowie (Dept. of pharmacology & therapeutics).
